There are certain minimum employment standards that are still not being met i.e. very long shifts, often without refreshment or comfort breaks, the lack of minimum facilities on certain assignments and hourly rates that do not reflect the responsibilities and accountability of licensed security personnel.It is our aim to assist our members in gaining the more acceptable pay and conditions they deserve, by encouraging both employers and end customers to review and reconsider their obligations, in light of the enhanced qualifications and expectations of security personnel.​

The Association of Security Personnel (ASP) is dedicated to providing sound advice and effective representation for front line security personnel and those wishing to enter the security industry.Although we are aware of the many improvements in security services, resulting from the introduction of the Private Security Industry Act and SIA licensing, pay and conditions for many front line security staff, have not improved accordingly.
